President Barak Obama and Democratic lawmakers scramble to forge a common strategy to stop Republicans from destorying the Affordable Health Care Act.
On Wednesday morning January 4 , 2017 President Obama will travel to Capitol Hill for a meeting with House and Senate Democrats in an attempt to unite Democrats behind a plan to protect the law.
The GOP hates Obamacare setting the Democratic party on edge about the future of the health care law. President-elect Donald Trump publicly vowed to gut it, even though Republicans are behind the notion they cannot in typical Republican fashion agree on the best course of action to replace it.
Some Republicans want to strip unwanted provisions of the law, while others want to destroy the law completely and start over. Leaving enough time for Obama and the Democratic party to devise a stratgey that could block any and all attempts made by President-elect Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
Next Friday during a livestreamed event at the Blair House President Obama plans to address the future of the Affordable Healthcare law. While defenders of the health care law started a political coalition called “Protect Our Care” bringing together more than 20 groups like the NAACP and the Service Employees International Union in hopes to prevent Republicans from repealing the Affordable Health Care Act.
